5 Things You Should Take Care Of Before Your Hair Appointment

Detangling before your hair appointment

YAY! You booked a salon appointment for this Saturday, and you’re really going to treat yourself. Now you get to wake up, roll out of bed, and go get the spa treatment you deserve – well, almost. While you definitely get to be pampered during your hair appointment, there are a few things you have to take care of ahead of your visit. Salon Brazyl is letting you in on the five things you should take care of before your hair appointment:

1. Book Ahead Of Time & Give Yourself Room To Breathe

You don’t want to be in a hurry during your appointment, so plan and book your visit ahead of time. You can book an appointment with Salon Brazyl here. If you have an important event or a really tight schedule, you may want to schedule it a day before or in the morning. Unless it’s a simple style, then you may run into a few road bumps that will prolong your appointment – not to mention traffic in one of the “Top 10 Metropolitan Areas in numeric growth,” (here’s looking at you, Tampa).

2. Schedule A Consultation

If you are thinking about making a big change or feel lost about your look, then you should book a consultation before your appointment. You and your hair stylist will work together to hopefully find the look that you never knew you needed. Plus, it’ll give your stylist the opportunity to determine the best products and techniques for your hair ahead of time.

3. Have an Idea of What You Want

We get it; you really want to change it up, but give us a hint. Do you want to change the color, the length, the texture? Did you see a girl’s hair on Instagram that you just loved? Bring in the pictures and the ideas, and we’ll help you achieve it.

4. Be Prepared to Get Something A Little Different

Like the famous lyrics say, “you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, well you just might find, you get what you need” – and the same goes for your salon appointment. Come in with an open mind, especially if you didn’t book a consultation. It may take longer than you imagined to transition colors.

For instance, Salon Brazyl recommends gradually lightening your hair over a few visits to maintain your hair health, so you couldn’t come in wanting to go from jet black to blonde in one sitting. If you wanted to though, it would take a lot of time and cost a pretty penny – and we at Salon Brazyl will still never compromise your safety.

5. Detangle, Please.

It’s the day of your appointment, and time to practice some self-care. Make your appointment go as smoothly as possible by coming with your hair detangled. A mixture of water and conditioner in a spray bottle and your fingers – or our personal favorite, the denman brush – can help get out those knots and tangles and make your hair stylist very happy. Coming in with tangled hair or hair that was just freshly removed from braids or plaits, makes the process much longer, uses more product and may even be more expensive. So, do your stylist a favor and come detangled to your best ability.

The most important thing you can do before your appointment is to relax and thank yourself for taking the time to take care of YOU. Coming with these five things, however, will help you have the best salon or spa experience and take your hair health to the next level.
